THE MOST UNIQUE COLLECTIONS FROM NEW YORK FASHION WEEK A/W 19

Oh, New York, New York!

The fabulous big city just turned off the spotlights on the NYFW Fall 2019 catwalks.

An intense week filled with traditional statements, bold colours and silhouettes, fabrics flirting in harmonic contrasts, and big, unexpected moments on stage.

Usually, most of the designers at New York Fashion Week like to play safe, but some of them had a completely different approach, showcasing collections where inclusion, creativity, sustainability, size and fun were the passwords to unlock the magic.

And we loved it!

Our eyes are totally captured by unique and outstanding looks, which deserve a special mention because Rebel Femme women are not afraid to dare, isn’t it?

Thus, we have selected the most inspiring and interesting collections, for your eyes only.

Designers duo Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Pansczczyk founded the label in 2014, mixing their different backgrounds and creating collections characterized by textile manipulation, 80’s clubbing, history, glamour references, sportswear, tailoring aspects.

This season showcases signature trims and textile experimentation, from crystal-strewn cable knits to ’60s Space Age couture references, in a blend of pure eclectic and punk, harmonic contrasts and modern shapes, let’s say a discrete big, fat ‘I don’t care’ statement parade against society and boring norms.

No filters needed, just self-awareness and a sense of inclusive diversity.

Sies Marjan is a luxury ready-to-wear label based in New York City founded by Dutch creative director Sander Lak in 2016, inspired by colour play, sense of proportion, and different manufacture.

Fall 2019 collection is represented by a deeper meaning of love, displayed over a tiny Swarovski crystal carpet. Mixed materials and fabrics, twisted silk and mesh fabric manipulation, unexpected use of lace, and brand new candy colours combination depict horizons of different luxury, like intriguing echo sounds.

The luxury womenswear brand named after the designer Christian Siriano was founded in 2008 and is known for dreamy eveningwear and contemporary tailored sportswear, accessories, and more.

The designer brings on stage an enthusiastic sci-fi, futuristic collection, where a cold color-toned palette winks at stripes, fitted silhouettes, ruffles, and visions of the future, designing a bold, statement style for all women, in an inclusive glamorous party of size and shapes.

Australian Creative Director Dion Lee founded the homonymous brand in 2009, with the focus on the celebration of contemporary, technical aesthetic, innovative and sculptural silhouettes.

Her latest collection sensibly respects a sense of modern identity, staging sensual boned corsets worn under blazers, fluid dresses, and unexpected decorations. A discreet lesson on less as more, delicate geography of structure, intelligent workwear, and new formal.

Another designer duo, another Australian brand. The womenswear brand was established in 1991, and it’s always been a symbol of sophisticated style, appealing femininity, through a blend of silhouettes, colours, and prints.

The main core of this season is a bohemian, refined aesthetic, inspired by a WWII female resistance fighter. Knits, midi-skirts, unique belts, berets, and boho ruffles are key elements of the collection, which represents the modern tale of brave and independent women.

And yes, we are definitely talking about incredible, sexy women who dare to be themselves and fully embrace their unique style.

And you, rebel woman, would you try one of these looks?
